MISUNDERSTANDINGS

WDCS056 - 1945

Synopsis:
Food is mysteriously vanishing from Donald's fridge every night and the nephews decide to solve the mystery.

Comments:
The plot thickens when the nephews discover that Donald is a sleepwalker, and he is the culprit himself. When confronted with the fact, he dismisses the nephews' allegations, but in the end he has to admit his mistake.

WDCS073 - 1946

Synopsis:
The nephews invent a gold-finder which is tested on a ring that Daisy has received from Donald. It fails the test and Donald has a problem!

Comments:
Barks is in top form in this very tangled story where one misunderstanding replaces the next, until Donald - in the last panel - is ready for an asylum trying to figure out what has happened...

WDCS100 - 1949

Synopsis:
Donald is the new truant officer and his most important task is to round up his shirking nephews!

Comments:
After a while the nephews let themselves be caught by Donald in order to ridicule him, because they know it is Saturday - and no school day at all. But they are not ready for the powers invested in Donald's job; he simply opens up the school and carries out a lecture!

WDCS154 - 1953

Synopsis:
Donald is the realtor for the old Quackly Place which is also a playground for the nephews. They have to prevent Donald from selling...

Comments:
Despite their tireless and cunning efforts to sour the deal the nephews do not succeed. Donald sells the house to a customer - who then reveals his plans for opening a wonderful clubhouse for boys like themselves. The nephews are ecstatic...

WDCS185 - 1955

Synopsis:
Time for New Year's resolutions. Donald resolves to cook only the kind of food his nephews like. The nephews resolve to eat only the kind of food their uncle likes. Collision course...

Comments:
One thing is to lay down solemn vows as the two parties do in this story. They also keep their respective vows secret from each other - which sets in motion the story's fine plot. Another thing is, that Donald stoops to a double cheating which in turn results in several misunderstandings; first he reads the nephews' pledge, then he changes his own...

WDCS196 - 1957

Synopsis:
All Duckburgians are competing to build the finest snow statue and Donald thinks that a certain poor family should win. But the nephews' statue is better looking. Something has to be done...

Comments:
What Donald does not realize is that he and the nephews all work for the same goal - making sure that the poor family winds up with the prize money. The ongoing misunderstandings escalate as the Ducks try to destroy each other's statues.

WDCS254 - 1961

Synopsis:
The Duckburgians decide to hold a quiet Halloween away from town this year but Donald is not informed of the plan and makes it the worst Halloween Duckburg has ever seen..

Comments:
Donald's failing to get information makes him misunderstand the complete lack of visible festivity in Duckburg. He sets out to find his fellow Duckburgians wrecking most of the town on his way...
