HELPFULNESS

WDCS074 - 1946

Synopsis:
Donald works well as a bill collector and he pays the nephews for taking over the job while he rests. Their first client is Donald!

Comments:
The nephews wish to help Donald out from the goodness of their hearts, but the plot thickens when he does not want them to continue their work, because he appears to be a debtor himself. Now the nephews' 'helpfulness' stops at nothing!

WDCS089 - 1948

Synopsis:
Donald is starting his new job as a night watchman. But will he be able to stay awake?

Comments:
Well, he has the nephews to help him, and they are really doing a great job. When they finally roll over from sheer exhaustion, they have done more than could be expected.

WDCS094 - 1948

Synopsis:
Donald is a coast guard and it is his job to patrol the bay for smugglers. But they do not find Donald that hard to fool...

Comments:
This is one of more stories in which the nephews are helping Donald out of mischief without him even knowing about it. Another example is WDCS197, where they helped him catch a gang of border smugglers.

WDCS174 - 1955

Synopsis:
Donald has built an iceboat to haul mail across the frozen lake to Beaver Island. But the job is somewhat different from what he expects...

Comments:
Donald needs mail in order to stay in business, so the nephews pack several crates for him to transport - without him knowing they are the senders. Once again they operate in the background, but this time it is to boost his moral. Another example is WDCS096, in which they 'steer' him around on the golf course.

WDCS181 - 1955

Synopsis:
The Junior Woodchucks and the Chickadees are in a bridge building contest. Donald places his talents at the disposal of the JW's...

Comments:
Now it is Donald's time to help the nephews. The problem is, however, that they neither want nor need his help. Still 'help' is thrust upon them with catastrophic results!

WDCS203 - 1957

Synopsis:
The nephews are hired as messengers and they have to deliver a certain package within twenty minutes. But a lion stands in the way...

Comments:
Again, Donald wishes to help his nephews, and this time they gratefully accept. And he really achieves some positive results. This also happened in WDCS238, where he took over the nephews' dog-sitting job.

WDCS282 - 1964

Synopsis:
The joust between the Junior Woodchucks from Goosetown and Duckburg ends in a tie and now their trainers have to reach a decision. Donald acts for Duckburg...

Comments:
Also in this story Donald goes to great lengths in order to help his nephews and the JWs out of a predicament; he volunteers to take part in a boxing fight, although he has never tried that sort of thing before. In WDCS294 he repeated his willingness to help the JWs out by participating in a contest to raise money for their movement.
