Occasionally, some of Carl Barks' primary characters made the headlines in the local newspapers in a few of his stories. We know for a fact that both Donald and Scrooge have made it to the front pages in newspapers and magazines (see the graphic examples below), but there can be little doubt that a number of the primary characters have been great news and frequent guests in the columns because of sensational feats (good or bad) on numerous occasions - without Barks telling us about it! This is to be rectified!
The bulk of the fictional material used in the sub-pages has been taken from Barks' stories. This is especially true as for the general news, the alleged photos, and the reporters' names. All dates mentioned refer to the times when Barks delivered the stories to his publisher. If you miss the story codes you can find them in the articles as signatures in the end. According to Barks' stories there are at least two dozen different newspapers and magazines serving the greater Duckburg area, but we have dug into the archives of one of them, the Duckburg Quack, in order to present a few articles in the sub-pages.
The 7 fictional articles presented in the sub-pages are just examples. In fact, it is possible to make similar articles from almost all of Barks' stories. So why not try to knit together a few front-page news articles for yourself just for the fun of it?
