* That didn't make deadline Barks noted in his work sheet. The story should have been delivered to Western in the previous month.
** Barks made the pencil roughs for 20 out of the book's 24 pages. This was, of course, done long time before December when the book was published, which was also when he received his pay.

Note 1: On February 28 Barks was paid $31.50 for a 1-pager (Barks' ID: Counts Piggy Banks). The page was never published.
Note 2: On July 31 Barks was paid $50.00 for a front cover (Barks' ID: Teeter Totter on Ski). The cover was never published.
Note 3: On October 9, 1958 Barks was paid $31.50 each for three 1-pagers planned for U$26. The pages were never published.
Note 4: The 10-pager planned for WDCS215 and known as The Milkman Story (Barks' ID: Milkman Donald) was refused publishing by Western, but Barks still received $425.00 for it on September 19, 1957. The story has since been published.
