CARTOONS

Barks worked, partly as story director, on numerous cartoons during his employment at The Walt Disney Company's studios. In the examples presented below, Donald Duck plays different games.


Donald's Golf Game - 1938

Synopsis: Donald's attempt to show off his golfing ability to his nephews is defeated by their constant tricks and interruptions.

Synopsis: Donald attempts to show off his professional ice hockey abilities to his nephews, but they get the best of him.

FC1055 Daisy's Dazed Days

Barks supplied all the material for a comic book issue starring Daisy Duck, which was published as FC1055 in 1959. In it, he tried his hand creating a rebus, a feat he never tried before or since. It can be speculated that because he was one page short of reaching the required number of pages for the book, he quickly dreamed up the puzzle page and jotted it down, as it bears no sign of his usual commitment to his work. And Barks also received the minimum payment, 31.50 dollars, for both idea and drawing...
