GILBERTO UGOLINI
Gilberto Ugolini, better known under his artist name Gil, has
dedicated his spare time to making perfect reproductions of Barks'
duck paintings. His ultimate goal is to reproduce the entire
collection of paintings by Barks. His reproductions incorporate
renderings with extreme precision and detail, and they are
reproduced in the original sizes.
Ugolini: The only differences are that the copies are in acrylic
colour and not in oil, and that they are all painted on Masonite.
Until now I have painted 34 paintings. I started painting after
many years when I learned of the death of the master of Oregon.
To paint these paintings takes an incredible effort, because I'm
not a professional artist. To me painting is just a hobby and my
reproductions are only for my own enjoyment.
Beautiful setting. All calls to pirate treasure. The beach of the Caribbean, the ship sailing in the sea, the treasure chest and the pleasant surprise of the ducks. It was made in 2004 and took 90 hours of work. |
This painting I really like. Barks displays a sense of magic of the night of Halloween. The sinister darkness changes to illuminating brightness from the open door of Donald Duck's house. It was made in 2006 and took 110 hours of work. |
This painting is little known and there are no prints or lithographs. The setting is perfect and the bright tones of the coins bring light to the gold deposit. It was made in 2011 and took 120 hours of work. |
