The CARL BARKS FAN CLUB is the only official, international fan club that deals entirely with the great man, although many smaller groups no doubt are present all over the globe.

The special logo is based on a sketch by Carl Barks. He drew it in march of 1997 to commemorate the Uncle Scrooge / Klondike theme and it depicts his utensils (pick axe, shovel and pan) along with a bag of money, his cane and his silk hat

MISSION STATEMENT

The CARL BARKS FAN CLUB has been formed to help preserve Carl Barks’ legacy of stories and artwork for future generations and to promote that legacy to an ever-widening global audience!
With the death of the legendary CARL BARKS on August 25, 2000, we lost not only an extraordinary artist and consummate storyteller, but also a good friend! Carl's creative legacy will certainly live on for countless generations and the CARL BARKS FAN CLUB looks forward to being a dynamic part of the process of keeping Carl's name and legacy alive!

The club was formed in July, 1999, but it experienced some difficult times right from the start involving bank, The Walt Disney Company, The Carl Barks Family Trust, and all the incorporation processes. In spite of all the setbacks a board of directors was formed and Reverend Ed Bergen from Crystal Lake in Illinois was appointed President of the club. Bergen is a lutheran pastor who has been a close friend of Barks' for many years.
