In 1996 Carl Barks was commissioned to produce a number of pastels (drawings made with coloured crayons made of chalk) destined for an elaborate new book, which was to be named Carl Barks Treasury (see it HERE). The book was only issued in 1,000 copies and is today an extremely rare collectors' item (you can see some of the published pastels from the book HERE). It contains 40 of the pastels Barks made out of a total of 80 finished artworks.
None of the remaining 40 pastels have ever been published before, and now this website is proud to present you to a small selection - 19 to be exact - of these unknown drawings!

When Barks made the pastels he divided them into main categories and supplied them with titles as well as simple, ascending numbers, and in the sub-pages you are presented to a listing of all the pastels' titles exactly as Barks booked them. The titles that appeared in the book are all marked in blue colour, while the pastels that did not make it to the book have their titles shown in black colour. Every listing is accompanied by never before seen pastel examples!
