We all have ancestors. No matter who we are, we are all the latest addition to our personal family tree that stretches its roots back through countless millenniums. Some of us are fortunate enough to be able to trace our forefathers several generations back, while others are not especially interested in that sort of knowledge. But for most people it would be highly intriguing to learn if they have an ancestor who may have been a great leader or - a criminal...
Carl Barks
was often asked about his ancestral background, but there was
little he could tell. Not surprising, because most Americans
today are the product of immigrants from a multitude of European
countries in the 1800s and early 1900s, and registration of
ancestors was not a high priority in those tumultuous days.
Still, Barks managed to layout a sketch of his family tree in the
shape of outlines. He also drew a couple of outlines for Donald
Duck's family tree. All the outlines can be seen through the
links on this page.
