Carl Barks was born more than a century ago when the art of photography was still in its infancy, meaning that the products were no way near the standards of today. This means that it was not common to take family pictures (let alone to own a camera) but Barks' family managed to immortalize some of its members partly via professional photo studio galleries. Later, Carl's interest in photography grew with the speedy developments on the market, and he never gave up his hobby.

This page is a very exclusive insight in the Barkses private photo gallery featuring a modest collection of some of their more timeless photos through the 20th century. The gallery has been limited to three photo groups showing Carl's parents William and Arminta, his brother Clyde, and his daughters Dorothy and Peggy. By browsing this website you will be able to find more examples.
