Footwear is probably not the first
type of garment that comes to mind when thinking of the
characters in Carl Barks' duck universe. Footwear is a relatively
rare feature in the panels where Donald Duck and the nephews roam.
As a matter of fact, they don't even wear anything on their
webfeet! The only ducks that always wear shoes are the women. In-between
is Uncle Scrooge who wears spats, which are a type of footwear
but not really shoes.
This is a page about shoes - in the broadest sense of the word -
in Barks' comic books.

THE PUZZLES | |||
How does Daisy get her feet into shoes? Broad webfeet and pointy shoes are not compatible, but when it comes to a woman she often seems to wear shoes of a smaller size than needed... |
Does Scrooge ever remove his spats? Except for the examples above he is always seen wearing his spats. But at least this snapshot proves that he does not wear them in bed... |
