KING SCROOGE THE FIRST
|
First publishing:
1967 - U.S.A. - U$71 King Scrooge the
First. Primary artists: Story: CB - Sketches: CB and Tony Strobl - Ink: Steve Steere. Number of pages: 21*. Synopsis: Scrooge is spotted by a 4,000 year old swami, who needs him to go back in time with the swami to find a forgotten powder, which will allow the swami to finally perish. |
* Barks later wrote: This is a mystery to me, I got paid for 24 pages! |
|
COMMENTS: Later, Strobl recalled the script he was handed: It had a fantastic layout and I hardly needed to do any preliminary sketches, just trace. Strobl rarely did any inking in his countless stories, although he is frequently perceived as an inker. Instead he churned out fine pencilled sketches, which several other artists would ink.
