CHILDRENS STORIES - UNCREDITED

Barks had nothing to do with the 5 books from Whitman Publishing Company (Western) which were published from 1946 to 1949 under the name of Better Little Book (sometimes also referred to as Big Little Book).
In general, the publisher used half of the drawings from Barks' comic book stories on every second page and the opposite page was filled with accompanying text written by unknown writers. Due to the books' very special format all Barks' drawings were distorted in some way; either stretched in length or with added pen strokes.
