Through time Carl Barks added greatly to the glamour surrounding Scrooge McDuck's increasing wealth. He introduced such unusual objects as the Money Bin filled with acres of cash (even his office floor is covered with coins), a supposedly lucky dime, a Boer War cannon, and a worry room. Barks also invented Scrooge's famous money swim. Barks was once asked how Scrooge managed it: I don't explain that trick because I don't understand it myself. Perhaps it has something to do with his character: Often he can do things which other people can't. He can go out in the desert and smell the presence of gold; other prospectors would have to dig mountains of dirt before they could find any nuggets.
Anyway, Barks provided us with ample examples of how Scrooge can swim, dive, shower, and relax in money or similar objects both at home and away, and he did so in all the diverse types of artwork he mastered. Just dive into the examples provided below...

THE INITIAL BATH

Diving into them like a porpoise...

...burrowing through them like a gopher...

...and throwing them into the air

Barks often showed us how Scrooge mastered the spectacular art of dry-diving. The act was introduced in the first Scrooge adventure story, FC0386 Only a Poor Old Man, in which Barks portrays Scrooge in his money on a staggering 5 (...) different occasions! As time went by the core of the dialogue was always the same - but with small deviations (examples):
FC0386 Only a Poor Old Man
: Oh, boy, money! I love to dive around it like a porpoise! - And burrow through it like a gopher! - And toss it up and let it hit me on the head! - WDCS124 'The Money Manager': I love money! I love the feel of it and smell of it! I like to dive around in it like a porpoise! And bore through it like a gopher! - WDCS126 'The Money Bin Crib': I know that money isn't worth anything! It's just a lot of paper and metal! - But I love the stuff! I love to dive around in it like a porpoise! - And burrow through it like a gopher! - And toss it up and let it hit me on the head!
