THE CHARACTERS

Carl Barks only ruled the duck universe for a quarter of a century, but in that period of time he changed it completely by adding innovative new characters, from which countless other artists have since benefitted. If Barks had not entered the scene, the duck universe would have been a much poorer place to visit! Here is a small selection of some of Barks' inventions - presented in no particular order - showing examples of his genius. Be forewarned: You are only shown characters that Barks used more than once, or that other artists have used after him, which means that you may be looking in vain for a number of other very memorable characters...
