HDL25 Captains Outrageous 15 pages - Inker: Kay Wright The JWs present their commander with a somewhat noisy wrist watch. He, in turn, takes them to the harbour to watch the ships but a heavy rainfall forces them to hide in a cod locker which is then hoisted aboard a schooner without the JWs realizing it. The crew hear the loud tick-tock from the watch, assume it to be a bomb, and they abandon the ship. The only one left is the captain who now has no hope of manoeuvering his ship, let alone catch any fish. Luckily, the watch has a peculiar effect on the fish; they gather round the ship and can be easily caught. The day is saved after all... |
The title refers to British author Rudyard Kipling's novel 'Captains Courageous' about a boy who falls overboard an ocean liner and is rescued by fishermen. |
