Donald hates him, Scrooge despises him, the nephews loath him, Daisy tolerates him. Well, in short, all the Duckburgians seem to detest him in various degrees. He is the least liked of the primary characters in the duck universe. Everyone seem to avoid him, his general attitude, and his deplorable manners. This is also true for Carl Barks, who invented him and soon regretted having done so, because this particular character's attributes has no redeeming features! Some of his flaws include arrogance, boasting, and laziness, but perhaps his most distinct and despicable side is his constant urge to belittle people. Still, he participated in no less than 57 stories*, in most of which he demonstrated his uncanny luck and effortless ability to infuriate those around him. His name is Gladstone Gander.

U$54 The Billion Dollar Safari - 1964 Scrooge's Zoo is failing so he will pay a billion dollars for a speckled elephant with a square trunk. Gladstone finds one!

WDCS117 'The Flooded Picnic' - 1950 Donald and Gladstone try to court Daisy. During a flood Gladstone rescues her by using a magically appearing gondola!	WDCS128 'Knight Brawl' - 1951 Daisy's drama club is putting on a play and Donald and Gladstone both want to be the star of the show! Gladstone gets nasty!	WDCS131 'Master Golfer' - 1951 Once again, Donald plays a perfect golf game, but in the end Gladstone miraculously turns out to be the winner!
WDCS136 'Thanksgiving Raffle' - 1951 Donald is tired of Gladstone's unbelievable luck and he decides to hold a fixed raffle. Still, against all odds, Gladstone wins!	WDCS140 'Free Dinner' - 1952 Gladstone is immensely lucky. One day he collects all the food he needs for a luxury dinner without having to pay for anything!	WDCS143 'Gems from Above' - 1952 Donald decides to sell Gladstone some worthless land, but when he takes over, it is suddenly teeming with precious stones!
WDCS147 'Freeloading' - 1952 At first, Gladstone join a charitable club under false pretence, then he demands ever-increasing service from Donald!	WDCS151 'Easter Disaster' - 1953 Donald makes a whole-hearted effort to please the children at Easter, but Gladstone sabotages him several times!	WDCS163 'The Buried Pearls' - 1954 Gladstone lures Donald to dig for some lost, precious pearls, which he then lures from Donald disguised as an Indian swami!
WDCS167 'Salmon Contest' - 1954 Donald tries to catch the biggest salmon in a fishing contest. Gladstone arrives and lands Donald's big catch by chance!	WDCS179 'Canoe Contest' - 1955 Donald and Gladstone have entered the same canoe contest. Of course, Gladstone wins - without even trying very hard!	WDCS187 'Business Contest' - 1956 Scrooge decides to put Donald and Gladstone to the test as business managers. Gladstone gets the better deal!
WDCS205 'Growing Apples' - 1957 Donald nurses his apples all summer long. His neighbour, Gladstone, does nothing for his apples, still they take the fair's prize!	WDCS207 'Desert Tryouts' - 1957 Donald, Scrooge, and Gladstone compete to win in several desert contests. Gladstone wins them all without even trying!	WDCS212 'Scavenger Hunt' - 1958 In a competition Donald flies around the earth to collect specific things. His opponent is Gladstone - but that's enough!
WDCS217 'Stage-struck' - 1958 Donald is stage-struck and he is finally offered the leading role in Daisy's drama club. Gladstone turns up to foil his plans!	WDCS224 'The Awful Picnic' - 1959 At a picnic every guy has to find something special for his girlfriend. Donald does, but then Gladstone joins the party!	WDCS225 'The Choice' - 1959 Donald courts Daisy, but is called out. When Gladstone moves in, he is more eager to save his records from a fire!
WDCS270 Jinxed Jalopy Race - 1963 Donald wants to win the famous Mistletoe Race, but Gladstone schemes to win by discrediting Donald!
