OREGON
On Friday the 31st of March, 1995, Barks was honoured by the Senate of the State of Oregon as one of Oregon's most esteemed and legendary sons. The special Senate Joint Memorial was sponsored by Senator Brady Adams, who was a dedicated fan, and it passed unanimously. The honour was handed to Barks by Governor John Kitzhaber, who said: It's nice to finally meet you. You certainly entertained me! Later on, Kitzhaber disclosed that he had read his first Barks story when he was 10 years old, and that he had been a fan ever since! |
