TROMBONE TROUBLE The gods Jupiter and Vulcan are disturbed by Black Pete's sour trombone playing. They enlist Donald Duck to get rid of him. But instead, Donald finds the trombone and plays it himself. Comments: Barks served as Story Director. Jack Hannah was a storyman.

THE PLASTICS INVENTOR Donald Duck bakes a plastic airplane, following instructions from the radio. He proudly goes to try it out. But it melts in a rainstorm, coming down on a flock of blackbirds like a pie. Comments: Barks worked with Jack Hannah and Dick Shaw. The plastics industry was in its infancy then, producing a weak an brittle plastic, but the material was never so poor that it would melt in water. Obviously Barks did not know that at the time.

The fact that Barks still got credited for the above films after leaving the studios in 1942 is because 'his' cartoons still had to be drawn and produced, which took a great deal of time.
