NON-SCROOGE ATTACKS

 

  U$07 'Cibola' - 1954

Synopsis:
Scrooge lacks excitement in his life so he follows Donald and the nephews to the desert in order to collect arrowheads. They also find 7 golden cities...

Comments:
By sheer coincidence the Boys hear Scrooge and the Ducks talk about the fabled cities in a café, and they decide to follow the ducks out in the desert. After actually finding the cities, that are filled with valuables, the Boys manage to scare the ducks for a brief moment. Still, none from the two parties return with any valuables in the end...

 

  U$08 'The Stone-ray Machine' - 1955

Synopsis:
Scrooge finds an S.O.S. message - someone on an unknown island seeks help. He quickly takes off in the hope of earning a bundle on the rescue expedition...

Comments:
The Boys are pure victims in this story, where they have accidentally landed on an uncharted Pacific island. Here a strange scientist transforms all of the Boys but one - who manages to escape - to stone using a special ray machine. The escapee succeeds in calling help using a bottle message which is, in turn, received by the Ducks and Scrooge, of all people...

 

  U$GTD 'The Fantastic River Race' - 1957

Synopsis:
Scrooge and Captain Blackheart Beagle own paddle-wheelers on the Mississippi River and a contest shall decide who gets a certain job.

Comments:
In this story the Boys largely manage to act as normal citizens, in fact, they even have jobs! The story is set in the past, so the Boys present might be the grandfathers of today's Boys...

 

  U$24 The Twenty-four Carat Moon - 1959

Synopsis:
Scrooge hears of a small moon of solid gold behind the Moon. He immediately blasts off to claim the precious object. However, it seems to be inhabited...

Comments:
The Boys are only furnished with minor roles in this story. Several groups of gold hunters blast off from Earth in order to claim the special moon, and the Boys in their razor-wing rocket are just one of these groups - and they do not make it...

 

  FC1025 Mastering the Matterhorn - 1959

Synopsis:
Donald and the nephews want to climb the Matterhorn but they are not welcome at the top because the Beagle Boys have hidden their loot at the spot!

Comments:
Shortly after their failure in space the Boys are in Europe to dig up the giant diamond they once stole and buried in the snow at the very top of Mount Matterhorn. But the Ducks happen to find the diamond first...

 

  FC1095 Cave of the Winds - 1959

Synopsis:
Scrooge fears losing all his money to the Beagle Boys and he asks Gyro to find a safe hiding place. But how and where?

Comments:
The Boys are really unpopular in Duckburg, and the city gets the army to chase them out of town. While fleeing in their plane they accidentally fly into a cloud consisting of all Scrooge's money that has been changed into Duckburg Savings Bonds. An attempt to sweep up the bonds using their drag chute fails and the plane crashes.

 

  FC1161 The Reversed Rescue - 1961

Synopsis:
Donald flies in a helicopter to Grandma Duck to save her from the snowbound farm. But he is intercepted by the Beagle Boys...

Comments:
The Boys are on an outing(!) and quickly shoot down Donald in order to get fuel for their car. But as the shot-to-smithereens helicopter is now empty they make their way to Grandma's to get fuel. In the end they are effectively pacified by Billy the goat...

 

  FC1184 Mighty but Miserable - 1961

Synopsis:
Gyro invents a special power box but it only brings him bad luck until he is able to prevent a flood by using his super powers.

Comments:
Lo and behold; the Boys kick out one of their brothers for being to dumb for the organisation!!! But 176-176 is clever enough to seek up Gyro and get him to power up his brain. But the powers only last for one hour, in which time Gyro manages to power up on his strength. The fooled, disappointed - and now vindictive - Boys haven't got a chance when they come knocking...

 

  WDCS252 Mr. Private Eye - 1961

Synopsis:
Donald sees himself as a brilliant detective and does not hesitate to take a job protecting the priceless Cat's-Eye Opal.

Comments:
Unfortunately, the Boys are out to steal the opal, and they devise a plan which involves that they hide inside a giant kumquat pie. The pie is to be presented when the opal is presented, whereupon the Boys will also 'present' themselves as takers of the opal. But the nephews' are on to them...

 

  U$66 The Heedless Horseman - 1966

Synopsis:
He who wins the prestigious Great Crystal Orb Derby will rule Duckburg for the next year. Scrooge enters a very special horse!

Comments:
The Boys would, of course, never dream of trying to win the grand prize, but they will, of course, not hesitate to steal it. Using their newest invention Beaglemite, an extremely powerful and unstable explosive, to cause confusion they go to work...
