The term Worker is a broad one. In reality, we are all workers coming from all walks of life performing all sorts of different tasks, and Carl Barks managed to show us most of the varied professions from real life in his comics. The workers in these pages - which do NOT include Donald Duck and other primary characters - come in astounding numbers. They are present in almost every story Barks wrote. Often one does not even realize that they are there, because they do not always play important roles in the plots. Furthermore, many workers in the duck universe have never actually been seen. Just think of the hundreds that built the Money Bin. That would include architects, engineers, construction teams, electricians, interior decorators as well as Scrooge's staff members. Or the thousands that once helped erect the gigantic statues of Cornelius Coot; sculptors, plasterers, transportation teams, carpenters, jewelers.
There are so many workers to choose from - even in similar professions - and it is the intention of these pages to show you a mix of both the well-known and the inconspicuous workers. This will give you a broad glimpse of the splendor of Barks' imagination. Undoubtedly, you will come across characters that you don't even remember having seen before!

NB.: Many of the workers in the following pages have been loosely placed into somewhat overlapping groups. A ship's captain, for example, would fit in nicely in several of the pages, but he will only be found in one of them. Barks' versatility was so astonishing that a complete listing of all the professions he drew in the comics would be impossible to list so you will no doubt notice some professions are missing.
If you wish to see further examples of workers from special professions (artists, professors, sailors or whatever) return to the Index Page and browse the window titled Secondary Characters. There you will find several hundred more examples!
