Carl Barks
very rarely took time out for vacations. From the beginning
of his adult life with the Disney Ducks he was so dedicated to his
stories - and later on, his paintings - that he did not feel that
he had time to spare for long vacations. Instead, he and his
landscape painting wife, Garé, drove out on day trips to relax a
bit, although Garé always carried her sketching material with
her just in case!
But if Barks did not take vacations, that did not stop him from
sending his Ducks on them. He gave Donald and the nephews
lots of vacations, and below are a sampling of many of the them.
They are shown in chronological order.
