In his numerous stories Carl Barks mentioned and drew thousands of secondary characters - and he loved to dream up funny, catchy, and surprising names for them. One just has to admire his uncanny inventiveness in this field. These pages will present you to most - certainly not all - of Barks' most inventive character names within several lists.
Undoubtedly, when browsing the lists you will encounter a great many names that you have never noticed before. Furthermore, you will probably be surprised by the sight of some of the names; for example, singer Elvis Presley and sleuth Sherlock Holmes were in fact mentioned on several occasions, though in Barksian versions! So just go ahead and savour the many names of both fictitious characters and real persons. In their own right - and partly due to Barks' stories - they are all Immortals...

Notes: A: All names are listed in alphabetical order after surname whenever possible. B: Names within parentheses constitute Barks' version of a real person's name. C: Real names are not always a person's name by birth but can be his or hers nickname or Americanized name. D: Some characters will naturally fall in more than one category, so they are mentioned wherever prudent. E: The story codes are for the comic book issues as such and not for the exact stories in the individual issues. F: Some of the most immortal characters - Barks' own primary characters as well as other Disney characters - are not the subject here.
