Carl Barks' comic book work has always been much more appreciated and recognized in Europe than in the rest of the world - including his own home country. Therefore it was no coincidence that he was invited to visit 11 European countries during a big promotion tour in 1994.
This page shows a fraction of the drawn tributes from both well-known and lesser known European artists who all felt indebted to Barks and wanted to honour him in the best way they knew how. The drawings are from two crucial periods - the 1994 tour and the time following Barks' death in 2000.
