It is entirely plausible that the most often recurring main subject for Carl Barks' stories from the duck universe is the subject of Competition. Most of the stories have elements of competition in a variety of diverse forms; the primary characters are fighting, racing, betting, and cheating amongst themselves, or they participate in numerous official competitions and contests for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes money or honour are at stake, sometimes the trigger is 'just' the satisfaction of winning. But common to all the stories about competitions is that they are often a little more appealing, exciting, and funny, depending on how thrilling or slapstick-ish they emerge.

As indicated, the bulk of Barks' stories contain plots about competition, and the sub-pages will present you to some of them. You probably know them all very well - and subsequently may remember the outcome of many of the competitions. Yet, despite the fact that most of the Carl Barks stories are about competitions, there is no doubt whatever that all of Barks' stories are without competition...
