Although Carl Barks was a multifaceted artist, he is undoubtedly best known for his comic book stories and his oil paintings, which kept him busy for the entire second half of his long life. This page attempts to show certain motifs from his long production where Barks' work would sometimes run along the same lines. The sub-pages are divided into 5 categories, and you will be given the opportunity of comparing his work in different media as well as seeing how he developed totally new scenes within the same restricted area. The topic for this page is Barks' multiple Christmas Scenes.

Personally, Barks never cared much for Christmas, but, as he said late in life, I knew that people went nuts over the idea of Christmas and they loved it, so I catered to their whims. His own favorite holiday, he added with a twinkle in his eye, was New Year's Day, because they´ve got a couple of good football games on. Still, Barks 'went with the flow' and presented a great variety of Christmas work in different media.
