It is almost unheard of that the artist of a
funny animal comic book is presented in the publication in a
manner as that seen below. Furthermore, the artist presents
opinions and commentaries about one of his primary characters.
But that is what happened in Uncle Scrooge #266
from May 1992! The artist was, of course, Carl Barks and the one-page
article about Uncle Scrooge himself was entitled Who
Is Uncle Scrooge And What Makes Him Tick?
In all fairness it must be made clear that the biographical
accounts in the text were not
written for the issue. They are quotes from several previous
interviews with Barks garnished with a few panels from his
stories. Also, the text can hardly qualify as being an Analysis
per say, still, that is what it is called. But despite the
article's obvious flaws it is interesting reading - and a great
honour and reverence to Barks!
