ARTICLES

Until Garé's husband Carl was revealed by fans as The Good Artist for his Disney comic book work, she was by far the publicly best-known member of the family. The public eye was on her already from the 1930s and has continued to this day. Her work was favourably mentioned in a great number of newspaper articles, especially in the earlier years, and the sub-pages will give you some insight of her fame as it emerged in the printed media.

The selected clippings are taken from a variety of newspapers in Hawaii, California, Boston, and Hemet. The articles are shown in their entirety in order to furnish you with the full background, although some of them 'only' mention Garé in one sentence. In such cases the sections are marked with a red line at the edge.
Due to the articles' advanced age and the relatively poor photo quality in those days the renderings are not as crisp and sharp as one could wish for. As for the photos several of them can be viewed in a better quality
