Carl regularly drove Garé out into the great woods where she could find ideas and motifs to sketch in her multiple sketchbooks and prepare for new paintings using her transportable easels. Usually Carl would wander around the vicinity pursuing his hobby of photography, and sometimes Garé found herself in her husband's camera lens.
